let's run away together / a poem

let's run away together

away from city lights

and  societies's eyes

to somewhere no one knows our names yet

and we can see the stars at night

sleep out in the open

warm cold skin by the fire

tell each other our dreams, hopes

and all our desires

laugh about embarrassing stories

talk till 3am and watch the sunrise color the sky

we own nothing more than we need

it's gonna be a journey into the unknown

but we're not scared

we leave without a plan

and I know it's gonna be alright

as long as you're holding my hand
